An exclusive collaboration between one of the greatest psych-rock bands of all time and Nike SB, these opti yellow and blue fury Grateful Dead Dunk Low Pros effortlessly commemorate the free-spirited band’s iconic ‘Bear’ ambassadors through their fun and eclectic colouring. Loyal to both the classic Dunk profile and to artist Bob Thomas’ original character artwork, these low-profile skate shoes are styled with single-colour fuzzy faux fur and brushed suede uppers in bright yellow, whilst the blue jagged edge midfoot Swooshes capture all the much-loved charm and novelties associated with the bear’s jester-like collar. The split-tone midsole and outsole helps fuse the design together inline with character profiling, whilst the circular tread and forefoot pivot put skate-specific functionality at the forefront of its design. Nike’s classic Zoom Air unit is compacted into the heel of the cushioned sockliner, whilst an unexpected zippered stash-pocket is styled under the padded tongue for a more playful touch that honours the band’s 420-friendly DeadHead attitude. Puffy, interchangeable laces are tipped with the Grateful Dead’s iconic lightning-bolt inspired aglets, whilst custom insoles, neatly embroidered ‘Nike’ ankle collar detailing and co-branded characterised ‘bear patches’ are woven across the tongues to help sign these nappy faux-fur sneakers off in style.
